Sehnsucht is the tenth and last Lacrimosa's studio album; it was released on May 8 2009.

Sehnsucht is notable for the clear implementation of trumpets and for having a sound heavier than the previous record (Lichtgestalt), besides of being the only album that has 10 songs instead of 8, and does not have the usual long songs. Sehnsucht is the first Lacrimosa’s album in recording 3 songs in English.

It is a record that at times reminds us the albums "Inferno" and "Fassade", with many arrangements in the voice in the purity of "Snakeskin" style.
