Lacrimosa describes "Elodia"
as a conceptual album and Opera Rock, divided into three
acts. The first act describes a love that is slowly overwhelmed;
the second act describes the process of separation of
this love; whereas the third act begins with a Requiem:
Sanctus. Ending with a note of hope.
Elodia is an important album in the development
of Lacrimosa's music, in the classical music area, with
the London Symphony Orchestra, the Rosenberg Ensemble
and the Hamburg State Opera contributing in orchestration.
Sanctus is an example of this, based on the Christian
Liturgy with the same name. This is not a completely orchestral
work, because includes the voices of Tilo Wolff and a
Solo guitar. However, this paved the road to Kyrie, from
the album "Echos", a theme totally classic.
